Prisoner re-arrested in Wolverhampton after escaping hospital

A man has been arrested on suspicion of escaping lawful custody two days after after he fled from hospital while on his way to prison.

The suspect, aged 46, had appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with drugs and domestic abuse offences.

He was later remanded into custody, but was taken from the court to New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, because of a medical issue.
