Camp Bestival has announced it will take a break from holding its event in Shropshire in 2025.
More than 20,000 attendees flocked to Weston Park last weekend for the family-friendly event, which was in its third year at the site.
The four-day festival started in Dorset in 2008, but came to the Shropshire/Staffordshire border for the first time in 2022.
Curator Rob da Bank had spoken about a “bedding in process” for the festival, but a notice on its website said it would not go ahead there next summer and encouraged revellers to buy tickets for its sister event in Dorset instead.
Another post on the website from organisers Rob and Josie da Bank thanked everyone who joined them.
“From wild swimming in the lake to whittling wood into magic wands, dancing to headliners Rick Astley, McFly, Faithless and Paloma Faith to surprise hit of the festival Dogshow and eating the finest BBQ outside of Texas, it’s been a vintage year at Camp Bestival Shropshire.”
Below that message, it announced “Camp Bestival Shropshire is going to be taking a break in 2025.
“Thank you so much for an incredible three years at Weston Park and we hope you’ll join us next summer at Camp Bestival Dorset on July 31st to August 3rd on the stunning Jurassic Coast at Lulworth Castle for the world’s best family festi-holiday.”
This year’s headline acts in Shropshire included Faithless and Paloma Faith, along with appearances from celebrity fashion consultant Gok Wan, former children’s TV stars Dick and Dom, actor and DJ Craig Charles and radio DJ Sara Cox.
Across the weekend, 350 acts performed in total.
Fireworks expected by crowds to finish off the event on Sunday did not take place however, leaving some visitors wondering what happened.
